Fair Hill Maryland Breed Show |
Wow! The AWR has every reason to be proud of its horses! At the recent USEF/USDF Breed Show at the Fair Hill Equestrian Facility, the biggest class roster in the Individual Breed Classes (IBC) was the AWR with 11 participants! Breeding stallions Adamant, Beste Gold, Costner, Dressage Royal, Lyracist xx, Weltmeyer, and Waldaire had offspring representing fine, established programs here in the Mid-Atlantic region. For the first time, this competition also offered Canadian Royal Winter Fair’s Pony Star Search classes in the United States. Congratulations to all the participants and competitors! Magic Rose Farm’s Beste Gift (Beste Gold) won the AWR IBC with Watermark Farm’s Dreamcatcher WF (Dressage Royal) placing second. Costner offspring – Coastal Tide, Cassiopia, and Calvin participated. Katherine Nelson’s Beste Yet (Best Gold) received third place and fourth went to Tina Rineer’s Coastal Tide. Wizard WF (Waldaire) placed fifth and Wyatt WF (Weltmeyer) was sixth. Congratulations to all who participated and thank you for supporting the AWR! |
Beste Gift | The Mare Champion was awarded to the lovely bay 2004 mare Adelaide WF (Adamant/Aly Alice xx) at her very first competition. She is going to compete in the Cosequin Championships at Dressage at Devon in September. She also debuted in the USEF Four Year Olds test, the Four Year Old (and Older) Mares Under Saddle, the 4 and 5 Year Old Materiale and the Dressage Suitability for 3 and 4 Year Olds with positive results with first time dressage competitor Sara Gartland. This was also stablemate Wyatt WF’s (Weltmeyer/Savannah WF) competitive debut winning a 3rd place in the Four Year Old Test, a third in the Suitability class, and another third in the Stallion/Gelding Materiale. | Abracadabra WF & Dreamcatcher WF | Wyatt WF
| Wyatt and Adelaide were also entries for breeder/owner Anne Rawle in the Breeder’s Group class – each garnering a blue rosette over their barn rivals Wizard WF and Dreamcatcher WF with judge Jane Ayers. The Offspring of Dam class reaped a third place ribbon for Abracadabra WF at age 20 – with her colt Dreamcatcher by her side and carrying his full sibling for 2009. | Adelaide WF |
Three of the four Mature Horses in the Championship ring were descended from the Hanoverian stallion Abundance (Absatz/Dominant/Goldfisch II). Wendy Staub’s mare Davigna MRF, her stallion Hot Shot MRF and Karin Roseman’s Adelaide WF carry the stamp from this immensely pre-potent sire. |
Hot Shot MRF | Bonnie LaMonte’s Leto (Lyracist xx) placed third in the very competitive Yearling Colts class. Approved pony stallion Hot Shot MRF won the Stallions Show Undersaddle class but lost out to stablemate Davigna MRF in the Mature Horse Championship. Approved stallion Costner won the Get of Sire class. Julie Skaife’s lovely mare H.K.’s Sassy Pants won the NASPR class. Article submitted by Ellie Rawle | H.K.'s Sassy Pants

Don't Miss This Fabulous Advertising Opportunity to Showcase Your AWR Stallion(s) or Farm! |
Newly approved AWR Stallion Helm's Deep
| Rather than publishing a stallion book this year, the American Warmblood Registry is printing a glossy, full-color calendar for worldwide distribution. A month's page can feature an individual stallion, multiple stallions, or a farm advertisement. The deadline for submitting your print-ready ad for the 2009 AWR Stallion Calendar is December 1st. If you wish to have an ad created for you by our graphic artists, the charge is $35 per hour with a 2-hour minimum. Full page ads are priced the same this year as last at $600 for AWR stallions. This fee includes one 2009 breeding permit (a $250 value) and an ad with photograph in the Stallion Roster on our website (a $45) value. Contact the office as soon as possible for additional details. |
| * Those who purchase a page must also pay their 2009 membership and purchase breeding permits for any additional stallions they may have. |
ATTENTION STALLION OWNERS: |
Stallion breeding reports are due in the office by December 31st. We are trying a new format this year, where reports are recorded by owners on an AWR/NASPR Microsoft Excel spreadsheet and emailed or sent on a disk to our office. Instructions and the spreadsheet were emailed to owners in May. Our purpose in collecting breeding reports electronically is to save time for both stallion owners and the Registries and help keep costs down. If you did not receive a breeding report spreadsheet please let the office know immediately. It is NOT our intention to make submitting breeding reports cost prohibitive or problematic, so if you would like to make alternative arrangements to using Excel please contact the office at 406-734-5499. |
